Co-Curriculum Day 2018 – Considered as Basketball Fifth Meeting (for both Senior and Junior Members)

First, all the members met in the Stadium for our Chief Advisor, Pn. Oo Ewe Sim to get ready 6 basketballs, a whistle and a score board and then, mark attendance as well as delegate duties to enable our item “Chummy Basketball Competition between our Members and Community” to run smoothly and effectively. Then, Pn. Oo collected the Coupon Collection Tin.
From 8.00 to 9.30a.m., the item was carried out under the supervision of Pn. Sarojini Devi (8.30 to 9.00a.m.) and then Pn. Stiti Khadijah Nur (9.00 to 9.30a.m.). Our members were either players or helpers (as umpire, score board or coupon collectors) throughout the game.

At 9.40a.m. Pn. Oo Ewe Sim terminated the game and instructed the return of 6 basketballs, whistle and score board to the respective stores.
At 9.50a.m. Pn. Oo Ewe Sim handed the Coupon Collection Tin. The total collection was RM146.
Our collection
Although the monetary contribution was small, all members and teacher advisors have contributed beyond words physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Finally, not to forget, a BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU to the members of the basketball team of SM Perempuan China Pulau Pinang Persendirian as well as their Coach for assisting in making this game a success.

Fifth Extraordinary Meeting [to discuss Item “Chummy Basketball Match between PCGHS and Community” for Co-curriculum Day on Saturday, 3rd March 2018 from 8.00 to 9.30am]

1) Our Chief Advisor, Pn. Oo Ewe Sim informed that Heidi’s proposal to hold “Chummy Basketball Matches” was accepted by our PK Co-Curriculum Miss Chew as our item for Co-Curriculum Day (from 8.00 to 9.30a.m.). :-
a) These matches will be either 5on5 or 3on3 for 15 – 20 minutes between our members who have been MSSPP Basketball U18 2018 participants and the community.
b) At the end of each match, each spectator in the Stadium will be encouraged to donate at least a coupon to our coupon collection tin.
c) This item is supervised by Heidi Lee Choon Hee and Tew Ji Qing and be assisted by all the other members.
d) All Form 1 and 4 members who are not players are requested to help with the score board, umpire and coupon collection.
e) All members have to wear PJK T-shirt and blue pinafore.
f) Co-Curriculum Day will end at 12.30p.m. Attendance will be taken at 8.00a.m. immediately after Form 1 and 4 Form Teachers mark their respective class register.
g) Absentees have to give Medical Certificate or Letter from Parents.
h) 10 Co-curriculum Service Marks will be given to all members involved to enable our item to be carried out successfully.
2) Pn. Oo Ewe Sim also informed that :-
a) Pn. Oo wil personally obtain the Coupon Collection Tin.
b) Teacher Advisors on duty :- Pn. Sarojini Devi and Pn. Siti Khatijah Nur will take turn to administer the coupon collection tin, members’ behavior and the progress of the matches in the stadium. (Pn. Sarojini Devi will start at 8.30a.m. for half an hour’s duration followed by Pn. Siti Khatijah Nur for the next half hour and so on).

Fourth Extraordinary Meeting [to report and review Performance and Results of MSSPP Basketball U18 2018]

Since Prince of Wales International School withdrew (the 22nd February 3.00pm match), our team straight away proceeded to the match on Monday,26 February 2018 at 8.00am against SM Chung Ling Private.
Although our team lost, all the participants as well as the Teacher Advisor Cik Oon put in all their effort from the time assembling and registering to the end of the match.
Then, our team of 9 participants supervised by Teacher Advisor Pn. Sarojini Devi, proceeded to the match against SMJK Heng Ee (set after a draw at 5.00pm on 26 February, attended by Teacher Advisor Pn. Toh Annie) on 27 February 2018 at 3.00pm. However, our team lost.
Despite our team did not succeed in achieving any reputable position in this MSSPP, we have gained a lot of new invaluable exposure and experience as well as an urgent drive to practise harder to improve our basketball skills.
Lastly, our Chief Advisor, Pn. Oo Ewe Sim confirmed that co-curriculum marks for participation will be awarded to all of us and Participation Certificates be distributed when ready.

Third Extraordinary Meeting [to review Updated MSSPP Basketball Competition Schedule and Pre-Competition Arrangement]

1) Our Chief Advisor, Pn. Oo Ewe Sim informed that the MSSPP Basketball Tournament Schedule has been updated and so, on 26 February 2018 8.00am, our team will meet SM Chung Ling Private at SMJK Chung Hwa Confucius. Before the match, all participants must bring Identity Card (original) and wear the new jersey (featured below). All participants must reach on or before 7.20am.

2) Pn. Oo Ewe Sim also instructed Kelly, Yi Juin, Chien Yee and Heidi to prepare at least a 6X ball, whistle and first aid box and also must ensure that every participant be given the new jersey as well as make transport arrangement for participants who have transport problem.
3) Pn. Oo also confirmed that (a) Teacher on duty on 26 February is Miss Oon Siew See (b) Pn. Toh Annie will be attending to Quarterback Basketball Draw for Girls (Cabutan Bola Keranjang Suku Akhir KategoriPerempuan) at 5.00pm 26 February (c) Pn. Sarojini Devi will be on duty on 27 February according to the time of the draw.
4) Lastly, Pn. Oo Ewe Sim requested Kelly and Ji Qing to take at least 6 photos for filing.

Basketball Third Meeting (for both Senior and Junior Members)

1) Immediately, our Coach Mr. Go started with the training. All members whether junior or senior, trained vigorously.
2) At 4.20 p.m. our Chief Advisor Pn. Oo Ewe Sim called for a break and we had a short meeting (about 10 minutes) on these matter:
(a) Jersey Number for every participant of MSSPP Basketball U18 2018 was re-confirmed.
(b) Our Coach Mr. Go has chosen 7 seniors and 1 junior members to compete in the Annual Shootout Basketball Tournament of Dalat International School to be held in both indoor court and outdoor court of Dalat International School, Tanjung Bunga this Friday, 8 February 2018 at 3.30 p.m.
(c) Format for both Letter to apply to leave the school early and Letter to go in a friend’s car has been finalised according to the guidelines given by Pn. Oo. Tan Chien Yee has been given the duty to prepare, print and then distribute to all the members competing this Friday.
3) Our Coach, Mr. Go showed the new 2018 Jersey which is dark blue in colour.
4) Training continued till almost 7.00 p.m.
